If you've searched "ACL rehab timeline," you've probably found documents stating you'll be back to hopping by week 12, running by week 16, or cleared for sport by month 9. The problem is, that timeline doesn't exist. Not one that actually applies to you as an individual anyway.
Healing isn't a checklist. It's not "by week 6 you should be doing X" for every single person who walks through the door. Your injury, your body, your history, and your goals all shape how your recovery unfoldswhich means two people with the same injury can be on completely different paths, and both be doing everything right.
This is why it matters so much that your physio listens before they program. Your individual story. Your experience. Your history. If your rehab plan doesn't account for those things, it's not really your plan — it's a generic one with your name on it. If your physio isn't asking about your story before handing you a schedule, it's worth finding one who does.
Every knee is different. Every story is different. Every healing path is your own.
